En duo by and with Helena Franzén och Ori Flomin
Helena and Ori met in New York back in the 90’s and have since then continuously met in different contexts in the dance world. 2010 was the first time they worked together, when Ori danced in Helena’s work Trigger Point.
In the spring of 2012 they started their cooperation with the project Meeting You. The theme of the work revolves around friendship and togetherness. What causes and creates friendships? What kind of attraction touches and affects us, and how does it remain with us? How do we build up our understanding of another human being? Will it test the friendship if we fully share all decisions of the creative process?
Helena and Ori want to challenge themselves by mixing improvisation and keep certain parts open in a visible choreographic structure. This particular element of surprise, to act and react unprepared, is a way to create the unexpected, both in the process and in the actual performance.
The project also includes the musician Jukka Rintamäki that has a long ongoing collaboration with Helena Franzén.

Helena Franzén based in Stockholm, Sweden, creates dance works that are physically demanding and visually strong. Her movement language has a subtle and poetic Scandinavian scent, characterized by a strong musicality and intense precision. In her works, the music and the dance challenge each other, creating a nerve and density running through the dynamics of the moving body.
Helena Franzén has created commissioned works for The Gothenburg Ballet, Skånes Dansteater, Norrdans, the EDge, London, DDT Company and the Royal Opera in Copenhagen among others. She also teaches technique classes and repertoire in Sweden and abroad. In 2011 she was awarded the Swedish Theatre Critics Dance Prize and 2014 The Gannevisk Scholarship.
Ori Flomin based in NYC. His choreography has been seen in NYC at DTW, Movement Research at the Judson Church, P.S. 122, DNA and internationally in Austria, Japan and Israel.
